About Me
Hi, I'm Chenyi coming from China. I'm a ECSE PhD student in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Educational History
Learning and Living
Bachelor
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)
September,2015 - June, 2019
I obtained my bachelor degree in USTC and I was majoring Automation in the department of Electrical Engineering.
PhD
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
September, 2019 - now
Now I'm a PhD student in the ECSE department of RPI and I'm supervised by Professor Qiang Ji. My research area is computer vision and deep learning related tasks.
Past Experience
Machine Learning Winter Program, University of Florida
January 2018
I attended a ML study program in University of Florida, which enables me to get basic command of tensorflow and train CNN for image classification.
Summer Research Program, University of Western Australia.
June, 2018 - August, 2018
During this period I’m working on a cross-subject research named ”quantum visual tracking” in the quantum computing group in UWA. Based on a quantum visual tracking paper, I modify a quantum circuit to realize KCF visual tracking algorithm in order to get higher speed.
Research
My research mainly focus on computer vision tasks in the area of human facial behavior analysis using the tools of deep learning models and probabilistic models. For facial behavior, I'm working on 3D reconstruction of human head especially for reconstructing accurate 3D head pose and facial expressions.
Programming
Python, Matlab
Most-often used tools
Pytorch, Tensorflow, Scipy, 3D-mesh-rendering packages
